| | USB mouse problem caused by Windows Update A friend running Vista Business on his Dell laptop has suddenly lost the use of his USB mouse and USB memory stick. I have read about the problem on The Register http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/04..._defender_sp1/ Is there a fix - or even a workaround - yet? -- Chris |

Version 1 of the update didn't have that issue as far as I recall, so it may be sufficient to install that if you can still get hold of it (?) Otherwise it will hopefully be third time lucky. -- Jon |

In terms of an immediate fix though, if that is what you were after, you can use the keyboard alone to navigate to System Restore and launch that. Tricky, but possible. eg Windows key brings up the start menu (between ctrl and alt), type 'restore', arrow keys to select System Restore etc ... -- Jon |
