Some desktop icons won't display properly

Some of the shortcuts on my desktop don't display properly, and display as a
generic icon instead of the correct one (see
http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/352...opiconspk3.jpg). This is strange
because I had specifically moved those shortcuts to C:\Users\Public\Desktop
and they all display fine on all users' desktops but mine.

Please help!

RE: Some desktop icons won't display properly

Try changing the icons size down slightly.

RE: Some desktop icons won't display properly

They're already as small as they can be (Classic)

RE: Some desktop icons won't display properly

If you right click on an open area of the desktop and select Personalize,
then Window color and appearance, then Open Classic appearance properties
for more color options, then Advanced. Select the pull down menu and go to
Icon and change the size to something slightly smaller. Mine defaults to 32,
I set it to 30.

RE: Some desktop icons won't display properly

You are welcome. I'm glad it worked out. I have found that Vista is fussy
about icons and their sizes, especially non Windows icons or self created
icons.
