Excel 2000 keeps opening new instance

The behavior is every time I click an .xls file it opens a new instance of
Excel.
The behavior I am trying to achieve is when I click a .xls file it opens in
the same instance.
Is there a registry key i need to modify? reinstall excel?

RE: Excel 2000 keeps opening new instance

Hey there Dave,

It's been a while since I've been on a 2k3 machine, but from what I can
remember, it's similar to doing the same thing in Word, which is this:

In Word, click on Tools>Options>View tab>uncheck the "Windows
in Taskbar" box>OK.

Let me know how it goes!

Best Regards,

Will
