| | Problem with clean install of Vista on SATA HD M3A32-MVP Deluxe/WiFi-AP with a Phenom 9800 quad core CPU. The HD is a 320 GB WD SATA drive by Western Digital. I've formatted the disk and attempted to install Vista. It does fine until the 1st reboot. After the reboot I get a black screen with a blinking curser. Changing the boot sequence does nothing to solve the problem, if I boot form the CD it provokes the system to initiate the install again, from the HD, blinking curser. The board has one IDE input and I've been successful in installing the OS on an old IDE HD without problem. I've tried several work-arounds with no success. Any ideas would be highly appreciated. Thanks PS. Any suggestions on programs to recover data from a failed RAID 0 array? -- jisho ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jisho's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=47345 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=956803 http://forums.techarena.in |

When I recently lost the facility to use JBOD (Regular readers of my posts will know why), I was able to use R-Studio to "emulate" a JBOD array, and I was able to recover 99% of the data that I needed. Highly recommended. Damn fine motherboard you got |

| | Re: Problem with clean install of Vista on SATA HD If you haven't resolved this yet - a shot in the dark. Your MB has several different HD controlers on it. Try different connections to see if the added ports on the Marvell chip need a special driver. That has been an issue with some other boards.
