| | Bug: Erase command fails if optical drive is selected in Explorer This is 100% reproducible on my system. Don't know about other configs. I've added config info at bottom in case it does matter. To Repro: 1) Open Windows Explorer 2) Insert a non-empty rewritable DVD or CD (i.e. a disk with files of any kind on it) into the DVD burner 3) If any AutoPlay activity takes place, dismiss it 4) Select the DVD burner in the Folders pane of Windows Explorer - the files on the disk should now appear in the Files pane to the right 5) Right click on the DVD burner in the Folders pane of Windows Explorer 6) Click on the "Erase this disk" command in the context menu 7) Click Next in the "Burn to Disc - Ready to erase disc" dialog that appears Result: The "Burn to Disk - Ready to erase disk" dialog AND the Windows Explorer window vanish immediatly and the files are not erased. Also, the drive may be "locked" at this point - i.e. any attempt to eject the disk fails. The system must be rebooted to clear this condition if the burner is an internal drive (i.e. not USB). Note: if you do not select the DVD burner (i.e. skip step 4 so that another drive is selected in the Folder pane), then step 7 works as expected - the dialog stays up, displays a progress bar, and erases the files successfully.
