| | Code 12 error for USR faxmodem I recently installed a model 5699B USR faxmodem on my Vista Ultimate computer. The device manager says "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)". There are several KB notes on the MS site for other devices, but none that help with this one. Anyone have a clue? |

| | Re: Code 12 error for USR faxmodem Thanks for both ideas. I have downloaded the latest driver multiple times, uninstalled and re-installed many times, but that is clearly not the problem. I uninstalled the modem, then disabled com1 in BIOS (the only one I have on my ASRock motherboard) as suggested. The modem re-installed but the problem is still there. I know com1 is disabled because it no longer appears in device manager. Any other suggestions?
