RC1 installs

5600 installed fine on Dell D620 and D820. Having same problem installing on
Dell XPS Gen 2 as 5536: setup BSOD's right after supplying SATA controller
driver with a STOP 7. 5472 still running fine on it, so I don't think
anything's come loose inside or anything like that... puzzled.

Re: RC1 installs

I also got a BSOD when installing on my P4 with Intel Raid controller.

Installing Vista, using Intel drivers from floppy, crashes the system BSOD.

However I could upgrade in place the same system to 5536.

Have installed previous Vista versions without issues from the ground up.
Puzzled...

Cheers,

Vincent

Re: RC1 installs

Setup from XP or restart--if have not restarted try that.

Re: RC1 installs

Sorry, Chad, don't follow your line of thinking... what are you saying here?

Thanks,

Re: RC1 installs

Chad, two comments on the Core 2 Duo: It is as fast as reported and it runs
even cooler than I expected. The temp sits on 38F to 40F no matter my load.
What a welcome change from the Pentium line!

Re: RC1 installs

Think I get it now... install XP and run RC1 setup from within XP?
