Trouble viewing photos in attachments

Vista Premium ---------When I try to view a photo (usually jpeg), it will
download but will not let me view it.....I get a box that says "couldn't
display ______because it is corrupted". On some occasions when there are
more than one photo in an attachment, it will allow me to view one and then
when I try to view the rest of the photos it will start giving me the same
message box that I described previously....I need some advice on how to
correct this.

Re: Trouble viewing photos in attachments

It sounds as if a 3rd party program such as antivirus software is
interfering with the messages. Try disabling email scanning and it may be
necessary to uninstall the software (e.g. Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro) to
get things working. See point 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Re: Trouble viewing photos in attachments

Thanks Steve, but I don't think this is the problem. I have always had Trend
Micro on this computer which I purchased new a year ago. I only started
having trouble with this a few months ago. It has always worked real well.
I haven't installed anything new on it. I have no trouble reading the
e-mails, just viewing the pics. Even when I scan a photo that I have taken
with my digital camera, and try to view it, the same thing happens...(message
box stating that this couldn't be displayed because it is corrupted). Does
anyone know what I might try next? What puzzles me is for example, in an
e-mail I received recently (yahoo mail) there were about 7 pictures....the
first two came through just fine and then when I tried to view the 3rd one, I
got this same "corrupt" message...

Help!! I am very frustrated...

Re: Trouble viewing photos in attachments

All I can say is that people have reported email problems when Trend Micro
was installed.
