Vista - WMDC, error when opening Connection Settings

I have a problem with Windows Mobile Device Center on Vista with SP1.
Every time I start "Connection Settings", WMDC stops with an error.
"Windows Mobile Device Center has stopped working", after choosing "Close
program" button, the message "To help protect your computer, Data Execution
Prevention has closed Windows Mobile Device Center. Click to Learn more." is
shown.
How can I detect what is causing this behavior?
