| | missing arrow in windows explorer breadcrumb address bar With reference to the breadcrumb address bar in the windows vista explorer, I'd expect that there would be a drop-down arrow to navigate into any existing subfolders. i.e. C:\ .......................... Computer>C:> C:\Program Files ....... Computer>C:>Program Files and so on. With that said, whenever I navigate to the root of any partition (say C:\ or D:\ etc.. ) I notice that the drop down arrow at the end of the bread crumb (address) bar disappears. This only happens in the ROOT of a partition. i.e. C:\ .................... Computer>C: //no arrow! The workaround for this is to manually click the refresh button at the end of the bread crumb address bar (next to the stop button) and the drop down arrow at the end of the path shows up! Why do I need to hit refresh? Shouldn't the arrow always be there if there were subfolders to navigate to? This isn't a major issue but an annoyance. Neverthless, does anyone know what's happening? |

| | RE: missing arrow in windows explorer breadcrumb address bar I don't know why this is happening but you don't need to hit refresh, just click on any item in the window, which is what you intend to do anyway. -- Paul "Shyam" wrote: Quote: > With reference to the breadcrumb address bar in the windows vista explorer, > I'd expect that there would be a drop-down arrow to navigate into any > existing subfolders. > > i.e. > C:\ .......................... | | RE: missing arrow in windows explorer breadcrumb address bar True. Just that since vista introduces a new way of navigating folders, I am wondering why isn't the 'new' way not working as expected on my machine. I can't navigate from the root into sub-folders using the breadcrumb way, because there is no arrow to navigate further ![]() As such, I can navigate items in other ways.. such as double click on a folder, like u said (which has always been the usual way so far).
