| | mailto link in web page a problem I have a webpage with a link like: mailto:someone@xxxxxx In windows XP clicking this link activates mail client (Outlook in my case), allowing user to fill in the email and send it. The webpage containing the mailto link remains displayed in IE7 browser. Fine. In Vista, clicking this link also activates mail client (Windows Mail). However, it also loads mailto:someone@xxxxxx into the IE7 browser address window, then generates message in browser window "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Of course it shouldn't even be trying to display a mailto: as a webpage. Is there a setting somewhere to get rid of this wierd behaviour? Thanks for help. |

| | Re: mailto link in web page a problem Control Panel/Default Programs click the 'associate a file type or protocol" link, and scroll down to the protocol setting for mailto. Highlight it, and click the "Change Program" button. -- Was this helpful? Then click the Ratings button. Voting helps the web interface. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales...eAPostAsAnswer Mark L.
