| Guest | Disk Activity On startup, my laptop goes into a huge amount of disk activity to about 70% of processing power for several minutes to the point I cannot access programs until it finishes, I have edited the startup via msconfig but this still happens with no processors running. Any ideas what may be causing this? |

| Member | Re: Disk Activity Disable the indexing service, and if that doesn't help enough also disable superfetch. It is very likely one or both of these things. Do this by going to "Services" from the Start menu [just type it in the search box]. Indexing is "Windows Search" on the list, superfetch is itself. Also use this guide, if needed; Index - Enable or Disable Last edited by Brian the King; 05-10-2008 at 07:58 PM.. |
