Vista64 Ultimete with 8GB RAM hangs after resume from suspend

Vista64 Ultimete with 8GB RAM hangs after resume from suspend with black
screen.
No problem with 4GB RAM.
No problem with 8GB after call "bcdedit /set removememory 4096"
Hardware: QUAD6600 @ GA-P35-DS3R & ATI 2400 & RAID1@xxxxxx*WD320
Some hints?

That sounds like a problem with a driver that doesn't like living above 4
GB. If it's a driver problem you may be able to figure it out from the event
logs.

That switch tells Windows not to use 4 GB of RAM and forces everything into
the remaining 4 GB if you have 8 GB. I had a lot of problems with
suspend/hibernate/resume on my notebook. Using the procedures at the link I
posted I was able to get it working properly.

Unfortunatelly I do not see any events from resume time - probably because
computer hangs..

In the event viewer

Applications and Services Logs => Microsoft => Windows =>
Diagnostics-Performance => Operational

are there any events in the 300 range?

Re: Vista64 Ultimete with 8GB RAM hangs after resume from suspend

I'm not sure where to proceed from here. On the systems I've seen with
resume problems there were always entries in the event logs.

With some motherboards there are problems when all four DIMM slots are
populated. As an experiment try running the RAM at the next slower speed.

BTW : On the same PC: Windows XP (32bit) do not have problem with
suspend/resume at all.

Which brings us back to my original post. It sounds like a driver problem
and possibly a problem with the way your motherboard maps memory. Did you
try running the RAM at a slower speed?
