Evaluation

I went to sign back on Vista today and received the following: Your
evaluation has expired please reactivate. Now when I try to reactivate I get
we are no longer accepting evaluations. Lol I been testing Vista now since
they released Vista and somehow the OS reverted back. This has me totally
amazed. Now I cannot sign back on and please do not tell me I have to
completely reinstall everything. Presently it just freezes up when I try to
do anything from the error screen. I have a valid key, the DVD, and I
activated I guess 2 months back. I dont actually remember the exact date.
Anyone have any ideas how to correct this?

Re: Evaluation

How long have you been testing Vista? Many of us have been at it since July
2005.

Re: Evaluation

Sounds like one of the early BETA 1 builds to me.

Re: Evaluation

What build?
Some have been testing Vista for two years or more.

There is a limited time and after that there is no more use without a Clean
Installation.
Another thing that can cause the time bomb to go off is adjusting the date.
Any date adjustments, forward or back, are cumulative and can not be
reversed.
Either way a Clean Installation is the fix after the time bomb goes off.

Re: Evaluation

Sorry I should have read my post better 2 months SB 24 months. I installed
this version off DVD Microsoft sent me through the Partner Program. I have
Beta 2 loaded both x86 and x64 on my dual core Intel machine. The x86
install was the one that reverted back. Also, my daughter fessed up that she
was on the x86 Vista and was playing with it. Its on my test computer
anyway, so, no telling what she did. I will just format and reinstall or
better yet download RC1 and install that. I was a late comer in testing due
to illness. Thanks for the replies ev1.
