| | "Getting Started with UAC in Vista Beta 2" Why am I not surprised no help from M$ AGAIN !!!! The best they can do isecho the obvious that I just explained to them.. I've had a useless - worthless 6 hour day of non stop help from M$ which was spent mostly in 'Huh ? can you repeat that? can you speak slower? do you have an interpreter ?...And finally no solution. That sort of help is no better than this. Why would I pay for this sort of service ? I really expected nothing since it was just meant as feedback. I guess this 'buy help' is ingrained for all mailboxes that connect to M$. Even those that are several years old, and STILL BEING MONITORED. But for what? Subject: [inbox] RE: "Getting Started with UAC in Vista Beta 2" Feedback From: Byron Hynes <bhynes@xxxxxx> Date: Fri, 16 May 2008 11:16:42 -0700 Dear Customer, It sounds like something unusual is going on with your computer. The document you are referencing in the subject line is several years old as was pre-release documentation. Below is the link for support for Windows Vista, dependingon the edition you have purchased. Microsoft offers both paid and free support options. Thanks. I am the only user on this machine. I turned off UAC, when I had to run popfile [spam sorter] using task scheduler to bypass UAC. That option was only half useful. I wound up having to turn off UAC. Yesterday restoring the machines security to basic, I turned UAC on, and promptly lost all the search dialogs in help. Once again UAC gets turned off. and help dialogs returned. The machine has gradually built up stuff in the startups and shutdowns. Making it slow at both ends. Both that really don't matter. I'm still interested in configuring this Vista to work faster and better, and if it means UAC fine, but I still want my popfile to load. UAC won't let it, and bypassing UAC was just a work around, as UAC intercepted and screwed it after it was running. so 2 helps needed 1 what do I do to fix the help dialogs from disappearing with UAC on ? 2 get UAC to leave my popfile alone ? -- more pix @ http://members.toast.net/cbminfo/index.html |
