| | Partitioned Hard Drive, Want to use Restore Disks I have an HP Pavilion Computer. It came with a HUGE 500 gig hard drive. I partitioned it using the function within Windows, shrinking the C: drive, etc. Eventually, I will need to restore the system. If I use the restore disks that I made when I bought the computer, will my D: drive partition be wiped out? I ask because when I popped the restore disks in as a test, I got the warning that my computer would be restored to factory condition. I am hoping that I can keep my files, documents, etc. on the D: partition so they will be safe if I need to restore the computer. Is there a safe way to do this? A 500 gig hard drive seems too big for just the operating system. Thank you |
