Vista x64 Keeps blue screening when copying from network

Hi There

I have just installed Windows Vista Ultimate x64 on a intel quad CPU 8GB ram
with 500GB Sata. When i try and copy 40GB of files from my old pc over the
network after about 1 minute of copying the PC dumps and produces
IRQ_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL_TO_ZERO error.

I have installed SP1 still no different and tried copying to a different
dirve too. It's a barnd new PC and i wonder if there is an hardware fault?

Thanks in advance
Dave

Usually with that error message you also get which driver is involved. Since
you left out that information, I can only guess that it is the driver for
your network adapter. If the network adapter is onboard, make sure you've
got Vista-compatible drivers for the motherboard. Otherwise, update the NIC
drivers and make sure your NIC is compatible with Vista. If there is any
question that it isn't - perhaps it's an older NIC - just replace it with
one that you know will work with Vista. NICs are cheap.

Malke

Thanks for the speedy reply. The driver that was installed came with XP but
was for the correct family and version of the NIC. However following the
download from the mainbaord site that has done the trick.

Thanks Again

Excellent! I'm glad that sorted it for you. Thanks for taking the time to
let me know.
