| | Re: Undo restore point failed When doing a System Restore in Safe Mode it's probably best to create a Restore Point just prior to performing the restore operation due to not being able to "undo" the restore when performed in Safe Mode. | | Re: Undo restore point failed Hello t-4-2 an d Ramone, Thank you, it worked in safe mode. I don't have any of the software listed on the page that Ramone linked me to. Must be some other software conflict? Am I right in thinking that it doesn't matter as long as I'm able to do a restore in safe mode? thanx again, Chet "Ramone" wrote: Quote: > You may want to read this. > > http://bertk.mvps.org/html/srfail.html > > Ramone > > "Chester GS" <ChesterGS@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:985EDD8A-FF31-495F-8DCA-59EFD27954ED@xxxxxx Quote: > > When I try to undo a restore point, a get an error message that the > > operation > > has failed because of an unknown error. You are not out of the wood yet. Yes it does matter. You shouldn't have to do restore in safe mode, unless there is something wrong. I'm assuming that you are now back in normal mode. Please go back to system restore window, create a restore point. Then use that point you created and do a system restore again. If all goes well, maybe you are out of the wood. |

| | Re: Undo restore point failed Tried to do restore in normal mode. No dice. Tried turning off virus scanner. Still no dice. Can do restore only in safe mode. Have no idea what's wrong. | | Re: Undo restore point failed Right, I created a restore point and then tried to use that one to do the system restore, which failed. Do not have sp1. Should I?
