| | Moving my User folders to a portable drive Hi, I'm going to send my laptop to HP for repair. So I thought I should remove all my documents and other data before that. I did a Ctrl-X on all the folders under User (such as Documents, Pictures, etc) and a Ctrl-V on my portable harddrive. I suppose that was a mistake for now, Vista always looks for that drive. How do I undo my stupid mistake? Thanks. |

| | Re: Moving my User folders to a portable drive Try the following: 1. Right-click on the "Documents" folder and select "Properties" menu item. 2. Select the "Location" tab. 3. If it mentions the portable drive as the location, select "Move..." button to move the folder to your local machine. 4. Repeat the above steps for other folders like "Pictures", etc. - Chirag PowerShow - View multiple PowerPoint slide shows simultaneously http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow.html "Strato" <Strato@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:76213C7C-E0D5-483E-8E23-6910E57E547E@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > I'm going to send my laptop to HP for repair.
