Adobe 5.0 / Vista

I have a cd with a lot of useful test on it in Adobe 5.0. When I try to open
it, I get a message that says there are known incompatiblities. However, a
trip to the Adobe website doesn't reveal a fix or a patch. Any help is
appreciated

Re: Adobe 5.0 / Vista

There is no patch, you must install the latest version of the Adobe software
you wish to use. That is the fix.

RE: Adobe 5.0 / Vista

I've loaded Reader 8.1.2 and it still doesn't work although as before I can
open all adobe files. The only way I can view the contents of the CD
previouslly mentioned is on an old computer with Reader 5.0
installed....Installing 5.0 on the new computer doesn't work because as
already stated there is compatability issues with Vista. This is what I'm
looking for help for

RE: Adobe 5.0 / Vista

As you have found out Adobe 5 is incompatible with Vista, as a possible
solution to your problem try a program called 'Foxit Reader" is is a free
download and you may be able to read your old PDF files.
A internet search will bring up d/l locations.

Re: Adobe 5.0 / Vista

You need to contact the folks who provided the CD and find out why their
documents won't work with the newest version of the Adobe software. As I
indicated previously, there isn't any way or fix or patch to get a version
of Acrobat Reader that old to install in Vista - it won't happen. So you
need to find out why the documents won't work with a newer version, which
they should.

RE: Adobe 5.0 / Vista

Foxit Reader Absolutely did the trick!!! Opened my disc perfectly and much
quicker than I've experienced with Adobe. Thanks so much I'll be anxious to
use it with other applications
