| | Quick Launch Toolbar I don't know why, but Microsoft changed the behaviour of the Quick Launch Toolbar (and user-added Toolbars). In all previous Windows (up to XP) versions it was possible to tear these off the Taskbar. I had it pinned to the right side of my monitor which gave me access to 30 applications no matter if there was any maximized window filling my desktop. Beta2 and PreRC1 (5536) both do not allow to tear these off. Please, please, please allow us to tear it off, me and my customers loved this bar once they knew it could be used that way. Strange thing also is, Quick Launch only does a west-east arrow (when I try to drag), a user defined Toolbar is fixed on the Taskbar but does a north-east-south-west arrow (but still cannot be teared off the bar). Btw. MS did a great job on Vista, runs as fast as Windows 2000 inside a VMWare box :-) (well, no glass effect but thats no fail here). I like the new view and I like the new grouping of stuff, it's better than in XP. One thing I am missing is a report function for the disk fragmenter. I like to know which maybe large files are still defragmented, so I can move them somewhere else, defragment again and move them as one block on the new free disk area. Right now it's just a "run defrag, done" ... or did I miss something and it's still there? Best regards, petee |
