Search results show deleted items

Whenever I do a search of my computer, it keeps showing items that have been
already deleted and does not allow me to delete from the search since they no
longer exist. How do I get these items to not show up?

Hi C2Ways,

This is from your Index only running slowly in the background updating it's search results during low or no usage times. If you make a lot of changes, it probably has not finished updating itself for accurate results. You can force the Index to update quicker by Rebuilding the Index. This tutorial will show you how to easily do it.

Indexing Options

If this is a constant problem, then you might consider disabling the Index and let Vista default to non-index searches. It may take a bit longer to run, but they will always be accurate. This tutorial will show you how to disable and enable the Index for you to try out.

Index - Enable or Disable

Hope this helps,
Shawn
