calendar/clock issue

Whenever my laptop restarts, the windows clock reverts to Feb. 2006.
The clock resets to 12:00am, no matter what time of day it is.

My first thought was the mobo battery. But since this is a laptop, I'm
not real keen on doing that unless other possible causes have been excluded.

Thanks for any help.

Re: calendar/clock issue

That would be my first guess as well. Check the owners manual, usually the
battery is put somewhere that can be accessed without tearing the laptop
apart.

Re: calendar/clock issue

what if its a desktop, because my pc is having the same issue
i thought it was a virus but when i updated to vista it would have the right time for a while but sometimes if i shut down and start up it would go back to that time that was stated above

also to i notice that it will reset the time and date even when im on the pc
