Dates of posts

When I am reading the messages in this newsgroup the dates go from 4/24/08
to 5/30/08. There is nothing in between. The date of my post was
5/29/08. How can I get to all these missed dates. I want to be able to
read all the most current posts. Thanks.

Karen

Re: Dates of posts

If you don't see View at the top, hit your Alt key,
under view, select Show All Messages and View by Conversation.
Try out other settings.

Re: Dates of posts

Hi,

You need to synchronize more posts. Click Tools/Get New Headers.

Alternately, click Tools/Options, and on the Read tab under News, uncheck
the box to "Get xxx headers at a time". Click apply/ok, then click
Tools/Synchronize and it will download all available headers (be aware that
there are tens of thousands in this group, so it will take a while).

Are you getting this group directly from the Microsoft news server
(msnews.microsoft.com), or through your ISP's news server? If the latter, I
suggest that you set up an account using the Microsoft server for better
reliability.

Note: this suggestion is in addition to, not instead of, the other useful
responses you've received.

Re: Dates of posts

With a busy group like this (guess why it's busy!!!), there may be more
messages than your ISP and newsreader can handle, unless you connect at
least once a day.

Quite often your own messages don't get through because of traffic jams, and
paranoid posters may get the impression that there's a nasty moderator out
there who censors some of the nasty things we people rightly write about
Vista.
