possible to forward port on a wireless connection?

    possible to forward port on a wireless connection?


    is it possible to forward a port on a wireless connection. i have a
    dlink dwl-g122. i need to forward a port so i can maximize my dl speeds
    on utorrent...

    if it is possible and explanation would be terrific!

    Yes. with most routers it's possible. It is done in the router's setup. How
    it's done is slightly different with different routers. You'd have to look
    in the manual for your router. You give the computer a static IP address
    then in the router setup you forward the port to that IP address.

    Hi,

    Sure it is possible. Port forwarding is done by the router, and it doesn't
    care if the connection is wired or wireless. You might want to set an
    assigned IP in the router for that wireless device rather than have it
    randomly assigned, or you would have to update the forwarding mechanism each
    time you connect.

    uTorrent seems to support UPnP, from Googling. So the easiest option would
    be to enable it in uTorrent. Then the port forwarding will be done for you
    automatically.

    There is a Support Knowledge Base at the manufacturer's website that will
    tell you how to set the router to do port forwarding. You might want to
    look-up how to use a static IP on the router that the computer will use too.
