| | To heaven from BSOD STOP 0x0000001A Hi! RC1 works at last! I had Build 5384 working since July. I did not get any STOP 0x0000001A during installation. 2 weeks, I decided to install Build 5536. So, I downloaded it and checked MD5 ans SHA1 and it was correct. But: from Windows XP : upgrade -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation from Windows XP : clean install -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation boot from DVD : clean install without formatting C: -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation boot from DVD : clean install after formatting C: -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation I tried MEMTEST and memory was OK. So, I was not able to install Build 5536. This week, I decided to install RC1. So, I downloaded it and checked MD5 ans SHA1 and it was correct. But: from Windows XP : upgrade -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation from Windows XP : clean install -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation boot from DVD : clean install without formatting C: -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation boot from DVD : clean install after formatting C: -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation I downloaded a second time and same results. I downloaded a third time: from Windows XP : upgrade -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation from Windows XP : clean install -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation boot from DVD : clean install without formatting C: -> STOP 0x0000001A during installation boot from DVD : clean install after formatting C: -> success ! ! ! ! To have success, I had to download RC1 3 times ! ! ! ! By the way, each time, I burned at the lowest speed (2x). So, RC1 starts well. But, each 5 minutes, I get STOP 0x0000001A. And, in "Problems and solutions", RC1 reports it is : STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078). It is concerning the Nvidia graphic driver (7900GTX). And, I was not able to set to off the acceleration as said in the problem resolution. So, I downloaded and installed the RC1 Nvidia driver coming from www.nvidia.com. Now, everything works well at last. I like a lot RC1. It is very fast. But, USB does not work; I had the same problem with Build 5384. Bonne journée! Roger |

| | Re: To heaven from BSOD STOP 0x0000001A That STOP error is usually related to Memory Management. Bad RAM. Can you try other RAM modules? -- Jane, not plain 64 bit enabled ![]() Batteries not included.
