Removal of icons from search results

I have a Windows Vista in my Dell laptop.

A curious thing happened when I was looking for a movie file, for example,
*.mpeg in the search box in the c:/ drive. And it came up with icons of my
old mpeg videos that I deleted earlier. Even when you expand the icons to
see the picture of the video you can see it but deleting will give me a
message that says it's no long in that file location even though when I do
the search those old video files come up. How do I get rid of those video
files that are not there but the search result shows them?

Re: Removal of icons from search results

This happens if the Indexing Catalog is not up to date. Rebuilding the Index should resolve the problem. See:
