| | Why don't I have SP1??? I bought this computer last Dec, 2008 with Vista Home Premium installed. It's had a full time DSL connection the entire time. It automatically receives the Windows Updates when the are available. In fact, it received a bunch of updates last night (6/11/08). I just checked "Welcome Center" again and it does not show SP1. I thought SP1 was supposed to be installed through these auto updates over the last month or so. Am I wrong? I'm sorry to say that Vista has been disapointing and very flakey. I was hoping that the SP would correct some of the bizarre behavior. Should I wait for the Sp1 auto update? Should I download it from MS? Should I skip SP1? Thank you, Don |

Don't be afraid, friend. Unless, of course, your installation of Vista is pirated. In which case, you should be afraid, and feeling guilty. If you aren't, I advise you to start fearing God rather than men. -- Donald L McDaniel Please Reply to the Original Thread. ============================= |

| | Re: Why don't I have SP1??? I believe that SP1 has to be manually downloaded. I didn't get it in my automatic updates either. I didn't have any problem with the download although I think some have had a problem. | | Re: Why don't I have SP1??? Thank you Sharyn. I was somewhat prepared to allow MS to sneak SP1 in incremental auto updates in the middle of the night but I'm worried about applying such a large. I would think that most people have not had major problems but I have read of some that had those problems. It would be a very big hassle to reconstruct this computer given all the software and data on it so it's natural to be cautious. (Don't ask me about backups )Thank you, DOn On Fri, 13 Jun 2008 13:08:42 -0300, "Sharyn Mitchell" <mitch2@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >I believe that SP1 has to be manually downloaded.
