SP1 still not being offered

Hi Folks

I have been doing quite a bit of work trying to discover why auto-update is
still not offering me SP1. My latest suspicion is that the presence of
freebie 'Roxio Creator DE version v 9.0.116' (also apparently known as
'Roxio Easy Media Creator 9') might be the culprit. I am using Windows
Vista Home Premium on a Dell Dimension 9200.

Any ideas please?

Cheers

Read the above link, and how to download SP1 from there.

Re: SP1 still not being offered

Hi Zilla

Many thanks for your message - oh dear, I don't like the sound of your
"failed to boot" situation.

Anyway, I followed Tom's advice about finding a replacement driver. I've
downloaded it and so far so good. Hopefully, for one reason or another, I
will soon be offered SP!!

Cheers

Re: SP1 still not being offered

Hi Folks

Just to let you know ....
After taking Tom Allen's advice (see his message below), I was at last
offered SP1 and installed it OK. Thanks again, Tom.

Cheers
John
