Vista update Classic Theme?

After Vista recently installing the latest updates, my computer has suffered
several problems.
The theme has changed from Vista style, to classic, and there is no option
to change it back.
The system performance is very slow and it freezes a lot.
I have seen similar posts here, but am unsure if my problem is the same?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Vista update Classic Theme?

i had the same problem you did.
and i feel really bad nobody has helped you.
i fixed it on my own, and here's what happened to me:

shsvcs.dll was deleted.
maybe it is for you too?
but shsvs = shell services (i assume), which explains why everyone
tells you to go to services.msc
