DVD Roms not recognized

Since installing SP1, my 2 dvd roms are not visible in Vista. I am dual
booting. They are visible and functional in the XP installation. I have
tried different SATA ports on the mother board and flashed bios but no joy.
Any suggestions from this group before I roll back? I am running Vista
Ultimate.

Thanks in advance

Re: DVD Roms not recognized

Additional info:
The drives show in device manager with the following message:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and
to see if there is a solution available.
