| | installing a clean copy Hello I have recently installed pre-RC1 on my Dell E1705. Now I want to install RC1 over pre-RC1 but I want to install a clean clean copy of RC1 on this computer so I went and restarted my computer so I can pick up a option to format the partition. However, everytime I restart my computer and setup my boot device configuration to CD/DVD disk, the option "Boot from CD/DVD" does not come up at all. Just to make sure that my RC1 DVD is working fine I try to install after logging into my user account and also try to reinstall windows media center by restarting my computer and choosing boot configuration. It works fine. I am not sure what the problem. If anyone is familiar with this problem or have an answer to this problem. Please let me know. Vivek Trivedi |

| | Re: installing a clean copy You can do a clean installation even if you start Setup from an XP desktop. Choose Custom Install. If you wish to format the target volume then use the Advanced Options button, but this is not necessary. The dvd may not be booting because you need to change the boot order in your BIOS.
