What happened to the egg timer gadget that was in Beta 2?
I can't find it anywhere in RC1.
Where can I get it, without having to install Beta 2 again?

So we're to assume that Vista won't be so ultimate afterall?
What if the final release sometime next year is no more sophisticated than
Windows 3.1?
One of the few upsides of Windows 3.1 is that it installs into a RAMDRIVE in
less than 10 seconds!
Microsoft used C/C++ to code operating systems back then. :-)

I asked a friend to go get the egg-timer from his BETA 2. I really liked
that gadget alot - its exactly what i need while making dinner etc.
But unfortunatly it dosnt work that well with RC1 - see for yourself:
www.dnup.dk/Timer.Gadget.zip (at my domain)
You'll have to unzip the folder and place it in C:\Program Files\Windows
Sidebar\Gadgets
If you know how to fix this i would be happy - it seems like its open
source-code

I expect that many of the gadgets we cut from Vista will return as downloads
on http://gallery.microsoft.com. I don't know if the egg timer is one of
them, but keep your eyes open in case it is.

I kind of liked the egg timer gadget with the exception of I would like to
put in the exact time to set it to instead of turning the dial and not being
as accurate. I also didn't particularly care for the old Windows 'tada'
sound either. It should ring, ding, or something instead, but then again
that's just my opinion and Microsoft probably won't see this anyway as they
don't look through these groups much.
