Unwanted Reverb after installing Service pack 1

Hi. Installed Service Pack 1 for Vista regular edition and now when I
play Halo all the sounds have reverb on them. How do I get rid of
this?
Thanks.

Whatever the `regular` edition is meant to be,Install updated drivers for
your audio controller/sound card.

OK. Why would Windows mess up what I had to begin with?

Windows would not mess up with what you had but would try to improve it to
make it even better.
Perhaps the game itself has a patch released in order to work with SP1
properly?

Re: Unwanted Reverb after installing Service pack 1

Hi,

Be sure to go to the computer manufacturer's website (not the chipset
manufacturer website) and look for driver and software updates that may fix
any SP1 issues. For example, Sony Vaio laptops had sound and screen saver
issues due to their software interfering with Vista SP1. I know this from
experience. After loading SP1 I had sound and screen saver problems which
were solved by downloading BIOS and a driver from Sony's website.

As was suggested you might want to go the game software's website to see if
they have any fixes, too.

good luck,

oscar

Check your sound card. Some sound cards have "effects" like
reverberation and sound "from a toilet stall", etc.

Re: Unwanted Reverb after installing Service pack 1

It may not be Windows. It may be an issue with the driver or a problem
caused by new program. Hard to tell. In troubleshooting it is easiest to
start with the hardware, though.
