If it's basic photo editing, and cataloging, try Google Picasa, a very
good FREE allrounder...
Get it free from Google site here: http://tinyurl.com/mknjj

Couple programs I like...
Paint.NET, Irfanview and The Gimp. You can now get Gimp to work in one main
window instead of 3 now, look for Gimpshop.
However I do not know if these work with 64bit.
Have you also looked at the photo editing within Vista? Not sure what level
of photo editing you want, but Windows Photo Gallery will do basic functions
like adjusting colour, exposure and red eye removal.

ALso vote for Paint .NET, very good, and because it's a .NET application,
it's optimised for whatever platform it's installed on (it optimises
itself on install by compling to MIDL). Runs find on 64bit.
I've never been a fan of the others thou, Gimp always confused the hell
outta me...

Yes Gimp can be quite confusing and I don't like its multi windowed
interface. The new Gimpshop looks a little better though and has everything
in one window.
Hey Gusy,
I just wanted to let you know I've been using Paint.Net for a day or two and
it Rocks with Vista....
I'm using Vista x64 and am having no trouble. Paint.Net Rocks!!!
