About icon file views...


can i noe why my icon files suddenly got those box?? last time it shows directly the icon onli without the box,y like this???realy no idea, can anyone help me??

Hi Stephen,

It looks like you may have changed the icon sizes to either Large Icons or Extra Large Icons and that the icons can actually on display up to a Medium Icons size instead. This can happen with icons that are not made for Vista and it's use of the higher 256 bit icons. Click on View or Views on the toolbar and select Medium Icons instead and the box around the icons should go away.

Rigth-click on empty Desktop>View>change Icons to classic.

nope,still same....dunno y...can d registry change can affect how these icon files display?? when associate to system icon like i changed the "Computer" icon to one of those icon it just display well without the box... :S:S
