Vista - Bluetooth gets disabled on program or window changes

I have an HP tx1320, 2GB RAM, dual core Turion64, 250GB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce
Go 6150 video card, Broadom Bluetooth Radio onPort_#0007.Hub_#0001 (Address
00:1e:37:03:7f:53 HCI version 3.8489 LMP version3.16847), with Microsoft
Bluetooth Enumerator, running Vista Home Premium, Office 2007. Frequently,
when I change to a different window or program changes (not on program
launch), my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard stop working until I move the
onboard laptop mouse and keyboard for a few keystrokes and mouse movements.
After that, it goes back to normal, only to occur again several times during
the day. I have a Crackberry with Bluetooth, generally enabled but not
necessarily talking with my headset, as I generally do not wear that when in
the office. Any ideas?

In Device Manager, on the Bluetooth device Properties, there may be a Power
Management tab with a checkbox to uncheck.

looked at the Bluetooth properties of the mouse and the keyboard and found
nothing untoward there, so.......

Thanks. I don't. The Bluetooth radio is onboard the laptop, maybe even on
the motherboard. Just to confirm, I checked the USB devices and what are
there are self-powered, including the Broadcom radio. I am poking around the
Power Management area and have not found anything unusual there, but there is
not an item that delineates Bluetooth, specifically, but does have a wireless
control that is set properly (I only use the Bluetooth mouse and board when
connected to AC and power for running on battery is set properly).
