If you have a retail version there may be some drivers for the motherboard missing or wrong, that by itself could possible explain why you are not getting anywhere. If you built the machine yourself and you have CDs that came with the motherboard you need to format the drive and reinstall the CD stuff before trying Vista. If you read Dave's post then maybe you could try testing the RAM before ever starting with Vista. You will need to be able to burn a CD to do that. Can you use another machine to do that? http://www.pugetsystems.com/help/memtestcd.php Also if you can, make sure all Memory sticks and cards are securely installed in the case. |
