vista and XP difference in Outlook 2007 in connecting over http

On our network, we can connect xp machines to our exchange server using rpc
over http. However, we cannot connect Vista machines to the same server using
rpc over http. We get the following error message.

"There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The
security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authoritty. Outlook
is unable to connect to the proxy server domain.com (Error Code 8)"

What are the differences between Vista and XP in connecting to the exchange
server over http?
