| | Vista - Installing a Wireless USB Adapter |

| | Installing a Wireless USB Adapter It goes like this. It recognizes the device, it installs the best drivers I could find for it on Linksys (I have the most-up-to date on that site; I'm installing the right drivers), then it errors 10. I'm very frustrated with Vista at the moment--I bought a new computer because someone told me networks were easier to connect to, but now I can't even connect at all. Even worse, I bought a display model, so I have no instruction manuals or anything. Product is Wireless G-Adapter with Speedbooster from Linksys. Please help! -- Code10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Code10's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?u=52768 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=998243 http://forums.techarena.in |

You generally need to install the drivers *first* and wait for the installer to tell you to insert the USB adapter. Do not insert the unit then go looking for drivers. It's also possible that the unit is broken, and exchange or replacement may be necessary. You may, yes, have to contact Linkys support. | | Re: Installing a Wireless USB Adapter How do I install drivers first? Doubleclicking them in Program Files isn't working. When it tells you to attach the hardware, do so - do not attach it before.
