| | Activex not alloved in vista ultimate ? Hi Group, I have two problems, but basicly i beleive they are really the same. When trying to download from microsoft downloadcenter, it wants to validate genuine windows. it stops with the now familiar top line normally saying, that it will not run activex - but in XP it would have an option to allow this activex. Now i only get one option - further info. Security settings doen not allow websites to use activex. I event tryed to put *.microsoft.com in trusted sites. i also tryed (in IE 7) to relax everythin about activex... Same thing happens when i try to install a digital signature from the internet. ultima 32 bit edition. Any suggestions ? :-) Freddy |

| | Re: Activex not alloved in vista ultimate ? Hi, Just to tell that there are two solutions.. 1. Use the real administrator There is an administrator user, but it is disabled. It is possible to enable this account vy: right click cmd.exe, run as administrator net account administrator /active:yes net user administrator "chose a password" That user do not have problems with activex, just like XP it will ask to run the component. 2. The one companies will chose to struggle with: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/m.../cc137994.aspx Not for the faint of heart :-) FreddyQuote: > Hi Carey, > > Thnx for the tip - i did not know that link. > It passed the first 5 tests, but failed the last 3. > When i pressed the "solve the problem" button, it failed with the error it > tryed to solve... > > > :-) Freddy Quote: >> Visit: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/ and click on >> "Start Diagnostics". >> >> -- Carey Frisch >> Microsoft MVP >> Windows Desktop Experience - >> Windows Vista Enthusiast >> >> --------------------------------------------------------------- >> >> "Freddy" <freddy@xxxxxx-data.dk> wrote in message >> news:mn.558d7d87bc98b99e.93308@xxxxxx-data.dk...
