| | MS Office icons on desktop On the desktop of my XT pc at home, the icons for all the components of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) are located in the upper right corner for easy access to the Office programs. What do I do to get the same MS Office icons in the upper right corner of my office Vista pc? Thanks for any advice. |

Office program icons in the upper right corner. I don't know what you call the arrangement - tray or something else? Your directions showed how to make a regular size icon on the desktop. Thanks nonetheless. |

| | Re: MS Office icons on desktop MSKB below states Office 2003 and 2007 don't have the tool bar. You don't mention the version/edition of MS Office you have, so there's not much more I can help with FYI, read these resources for info in the Office toolbar and how to restore it, if you have Office XP or earlier. A few resources that may be helpful: http://help.unc.edu/2878 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/he...716391033.aspx http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822573 http://www.lcc.edu/helpdesk/msoffice/index.htm#Q1 You could make your own tool bar for MS Office shortcuts: Right click the task bar, go to Tool bars > New tool bar. Then create short cuts on the new tool bar. You can then have it "floating" on the desktop, or I think, "docked" to the side of the screen you want it. In this case I think it's a matter of "make your own" toolbar.....you won't get the same effect as the original Office toolbar. The important difference between your home computer and your office one is that the office computer is running a newer version of Microsoft Office. Support for the toolbar you want was removed from Microsoft Office starting (I think) in Office 2003. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

| | Re: MS Office icons on desktop That WAS in Office 2000. Not in Office 2003. Can not remember if it was in Office XP, as now not installed. -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "tenplay" wrote: Quote: > Mick Murphy wrote: Quote: > > Go to Start>Programs>Office>right-click on each one that you want a shortcut > > for:WORD, EXCEL, etc>Send To> Make a desktop shortcut. > > > > Then drag them to where you want them to be on your Desktop. > I guess I didn't make my need clear.
