| | ATIKMDAG I've searched for this issue on the net the last week, and read numerous posts about it, but all of the posts was about playing games on their computers when experiencing the error message about the display driver recovered. Well, I get it when trying to watch Live Tv on my Vista 64 Media Center. The screen goes black, and then the machine recovers showing the desktop. I'm using the Gigabyte MA78GM MB with built in HD3200 graphics, 4gb of 667mhz RAM and Athlon 64 4850e CPU. Anyone with advices for this? Can read that uninstalling the CCC application could solve the problem, however I'm out of town at the moment and can't test it, so I'm just looking for a list of things to try when I get home. |

| | Re: ATIKMDAG Ah... They do have errors at least on the 32 bit version of both Vista and XP, if You enable Catalyst A.I.=advanced and try to start the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Prince of Persia Sands of Time, the computer will freeze and stop responding. On XP, the drivers support a feature called GPU recovery, it may prevent the freeze, but Display acceleration may be lost. I posted a ticket about this on ATi's site. After fooling me around for a few weeks, they asked me to confirm it again step-by-step (although I had provided all details and a video demo already), so that they can try to reproduce it. It's been a week since I replayed to them and have no answer, so I may decide to make the video demonstration available for the public to see: why NOT to buy ATi products. I'll give them a few more days.
