Saving to Desktop

The default destination for "Save as" is the Documents folder; but I would
like the default destination to be the desktop. Is there a simple way to make
this change?

Thanks,

In what application? They all (well, pretty much all) have their own default
save to folder setting. Take a look at the
settings/preferences/configuration menu in your application(s).

Desktop is not really designed as a data location.....you would be better
off using the Vista default location of /users/{your user name}/downloads
