| | Inspiron 1525 Hi, I am new to laptops and Vista (got an old pc running on ZP). When I am connected to the mains supply the battery icon in the trayer says "63% available (plugged in not charging). Is this normal to only have 63% battery? Especially when I am plugged in to the mains. I would have thought it should go to 100%? confused?!! |

| | Re: Inspiron 1525 If you leave it plugged in but not powered on, does the charged level/available increase? At some time, it should go to 100%. If it does not, it might indicate a battery fault (old?) or a charging system fault. This can take hours, depending on charger capacity. -- Tom MSMVP 1998-2007 "wushmum" <wushmum@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:2FA02253-7367-4350-8109-4B11C3D8DB95@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, I am new to laptops and Vista (got an old pc running on ZP). Rechargeable batteries don't recharge immediately, so you'll get a reading like you're seeing at first. The longer you keep it plugged in, the higher that reading will get, until the battery is fully charged. What bothers me here is that it says "plugged in not charging". Why isn't it charging? -- Tim Slattery MS MVP(Shell/User) Slattery_T@xxxxxx http://members.cox.net/slatteryt |
