| | No Audio/Video Codec Properties Pages in Vista? In WinXP, there is a way to control the state and quantity of video/audio codeds, which goes like this: {control panel > sounds and audio devices > hardware > video/audio codecs}. There is nothing like that in Vista. Thus I cannot set via say VirtualDub the needed options for lame acm: e.g., it always makes joint-stereo mp3s while I prefer dual channel stereo mp3s. So, does anybody know the solution? Thanks in advance! |

| | Re: No Audio/Video Codec Properties Pages in Vista? Yes indeed, ok, but i did not mean speakers/sound driver setting up, but adjustment of the properties of audio codec: Lame ACM mp3 codec offered the properties panel in XP, whether to encode in mono mp3, VBR stereo mp3, CBR stereo, incl. "joint stereo" or "dual channel stereo" options. Now I cannot adjust this codec's properties in Vista, unfortunately >>> i do not know how to 'open' the codec config page, and I am stuck to the only 'default' joint stereo cbr mode >>> I do not get the needed quality of sound in converted videos. This is not related to most of video codecs, which can be set up directly from the app. Please check this if you have spare time. Thank you. "Mark L.
