I would suspect a power supply problem. If the battery is charging I suppose
you can live with it, but if under warrantee, I would contact the maker.

Even if not under warranty, contact the manufacturer. Laptops and their
batteries have been known to combust. Besides, Vista doesn't care where the
juice is coming from, and wouldn't cause the screen to go black.
