Print Servers w/ Vista

Hello:

I feel like a Dumb Bunny for asking this question, but I have spent hours
trying to get two different Vista machines to connect to two different
printers connected via an Airlink101 Print Server.

The print server is connected to a Lan which has Win2K and WinXP machines.
Everybody is happy with the print server except Vista. I can see the
printers just fine, but when I try to connect I get a "Windows cannot connect
to the printer. Make sure that you have typed the name correctly, and that
the printer is connected to the network."

If I cheat by typing in the printers name or IP address, I can actually add
the printer and even set it to default, but then it fails on print.

Am I missing something basic in my setups or is Vista and the Arirlink101
print server not friendly?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Install Vista printer drivers on your Vista Machines.

Re: Print Servers w/ Vista

Thank you for your response, however I found the answer on another BBS. It
would appear that Airlink101 print server is invisable to Vista, the attached
printers install as "Local" printers not Networked printers.

I would hope that in the next revision of Vista the installation program
would 'not care' if a Discovered printer was local or networked.

Best to all of you.
