Are we talking rounded numbers, by any chance?

RE: someone has this problem?

Hi,
I suspect that each time you install something Vista is creating a restore
point.
After the full restore point allocated space is used up (about 15% of your
drive) it will begin to delete the oldest restore point as it adds the new
and no additional space will be used.

I agree with PaulB. A driver installation is not very likely to occupy a
full gigabyte, but together with the restore point created you may very well
reach 1GB, and the same number of used space will reappear because the
restore points disk quota is maxed out.

You can find the actual number of bytes available in the drive's Properties
menu (not rounded up to MBs and GBs):

Click Computer > right-click [Drive letter:] > Properties.
