Maximum Power Management Under Vista

I am heading up a project to evaluate Vista for use by my employer, and one
of the things that we want to test is the power savings that may be
associated with Vista as a result of enhanced power management features. To
test this we have purchased a device called a Watts Up Pro, which measures
the power usage of any device that you plug into it. The Watt's Up Pro will
log the power usage data, which can then be retrieved from the device and
imported into something like Excel so that it can be charted.

We plan to run Vista with the power management features configured to save
the maximum amount of power. We will then install XP on the SAME machine
and do the same test, and then compare the two data sets.

However, I'm a Vista newbie and so I need help determining how to configure
Vista to save the maximum amount of power. Here is what I have done so far:

1) In the Device Manager I configured the NIC and mouse so that neither can
bring the machine out of power saving mode (I don't want the machine to
accidentally wake up during the test).
2) In Power Options I selected the Power Saver plan.
3) In the Power Saver plan I set it to turn off the display and put the
computer to sleep.

I would like to edit the advanced settings for the Power Saver plan, but I'm
not sure what all to configure in there to get the maximum power savings.

So my questions are:

1) Am I on the right track to configuring Vista to achieve the maximum
amount of power savings?
2) Is there an easier way to do this?
3) What advanced settings for the Power Saver plan would people recommend
changing from the defaults?
4) Is there anything else that I should consider that maybe doesn't deal
directly with power management settings?

Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer!
